5 Chen Shulu (Nanjing Normal University, China) The Merchants Spirit and Literature from Han Yu to Tongcheng School In the face of the political chaos after the An Shi Rebellion, Confucianism did not hold up, the buddhism spread and the customs were decadent,Han Yu revived Confucianism,promoted the renaissance of the Confucian business spirit in the middle Tang Dynasty. From“the decline of eight generations of literature”, to the Tongcheng School in the middle of the Qing Dynasty, Chinese classical prose formed its own distinctive characteristics in some respects in the interaction of literature, Confucianism, merchants, and promoted the development of classical prose of Chinese traditional society.
