The major difficulty that might have prevented theWestern readers from a better understanding of the novel is the narrative logic hidden behind and the significantly different sentence structure. This can be best explained by the essay, Long-Range Correlations in Sentence Series from A Story of the Stone: In Chinese language, an elementary meaning is usually expressed with a single character instead of a word, and sometimes several characters are integrated into a group to express a unique meaning. Several short sentences with different subjects can occur within a single long sentence, if there are logical relationships. This is strictly forbidden in English. At a macroscopic level, Chinese people also have unique habits in terms of how they think. (Yang T, Gu C, Yang H , 2016) Two of the characters that are normally misinterpreted are Daiyu and Baochai. However, in the chapter of forty-five, Sisterly understanding finds expression in words of sisterly frankness And autumnal pluviousness is celebrated in verses of autumnal melancholy, when the misunderstanding between the two heroines’ are resolved, the conversation between Daiyu and Baochai is worth analyzing. By doing so, it makes the readers rethink the literary stereotypes that have been imposed on them. And analyses based on the linguistic base provide well grounded evidence indicating the preference of sentence structure of each character. It wasn’t until the other day, when you told me off for reading forbidden books and offered me all that good advice, that I even felt really grateful to you. I realized then that I had all along been wrong about you — right from the very start. I suddenly realized: I am fifteen this year and have no brothers or sisters:
